SENSITIZATION MEETING ON NCFECD FOR SIAYA COUNTY DEPARTMENTAL DIRECTORS AND SUB-COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS.
“If we want a good future for Siaya and for our Nation, there are things we need to do differently for a fruitful Smart Start, It is not about what we do to our children but the environment which we provide to them that will make and shape what they become.”
These were the words of the Siaya First Lady who is also the patron of the Nyathi En Mwandu Campaign, H.E Rosella Rasanga ,during the three days Nurturing Care for ECD sensitization meeting to Siaya departmental Directors and Sub County Administrators to enhance their knowledge that would promote planning and integration of NCfECD in the sectoral plans and any other investments platforms within the County Government of Siaya.
Our aim was to have them Gain a better understanding of NCfECD, discuss their roles and responsibilities and develop departmental implementation plans on NCfECD integration.
Smart Start Siaya, is a project that focus on a government led model that promotes NCfECD with a focus on the first 1000 days and being patronized through the Office of the First Lady. The engagement of the Directors as was geared towards a sustainability of the project regardless of the changing political landscape. The aspect of sustainability is also embedded in the County through the Cabinet paper shared with the executive who are mandated to budget for NC in their specific departments.
Currently, the program remains applauded and embraced by the leadership of the county and for its investments, platforms including CIDP development would support towards planning and investment.
Throughout the sessions, the participants were taken through the activities and achievements as carried out by the partners present in order to give light to the departments on ways of planning and areas for investments. Additionally, the departments went through the science of early childhood development towards increased knowledge thereafter departmental work plans were developed that would guide integration of NCfECD into the departmental plan.

In one accord an agreement to work as a team was reached with everyone taking a step of changing the beginning of the story and CHANGING THE WHOLE STORY.
