We were privileged to join ChildFund Kenya who are our partners in Nurturing Care in issuing a total of 500 birth certificates at Sigomere Chief’s Camp, Ugunja Sub-County.
Safety and security as a component of nurturing care requires that every child has to be safe, secured and registered and obtain a certificate which is the most basic document that all human beings should have.
ChildFund Kenya is supporting Birth registration of children below 5 years in Ugunja sub-County in Siaya County.
In partnership with a Siaya County Births and Death registrar,they have so far processed 1842 birth Certificates in the first phase
Together with us in this event were National Administration, Education Department,Ideo.org. and County Births and deaths Registration department.
Birth certificate is important for child protection reasons, education reasons, inheritance reasons, and travel abroad among other applicable uses.
